We are committed to supporting students and staff who are fleeing war and persecution. We have a range of scholarships, schemes and support available and we welcome refugees to join our Sheffield community.

Sanctuary scholarships

The University offers ten Sanctuary Scholarships for students who are experiencing forced migration due to war or persecution.

Our English Language Training Centre (ELTC) offers a limited number of scholarships on both full-time and part-time courses for students for students and other people who have sought refuge in the UK and want to improve their English language skills.

We've continued to develop our partnership with the National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and have donated £20,000 to help to rebuild its campus air raid shelters.
